ROSARY GROUPS

The Holy Rosary is a Catholic prayer devotion in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. It is a very special biblical form of prayer which enables its users to contemplate the life, passion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Its meaning in latin is 'garland of roses'. The rose is known as the queen of the flowers , and is often a representation of Mary.

Pray the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary to obtain peace in the world . . . for she alone can save it.” (Our Lady of Fatima, July 13, 1917)

In the year 1214, St. Dominic from the Order of Preachers was greatly upset because of the sin in the world. He retreated to the forest. There he fasted and prayed for three days and three nights, after which Mary appeared  to him and said, 'preach my Psalter' . She referred to it as the foundation stone of the New Testament.


She urged St. Dominic to spread her devotion as a weapon with which to reform the world.


Mary presented a plan of 15 decades of the Hail Mary, each introduced with an Our Father.

She requested that each decade be a remembrance of one event in the earthly life of her son.


The Psalter was now a historical account of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus; and has been a blessing to all Catholics ever since.


Prayed with meditation, the Rosary is an extremely valuable faith experience, a spiritual powerhouse which can be used to invoke the intercession of Mary, and indeed all of the Saints for help with life's challenges.
